Image Format Changing

Changing the format of an image file.

For this you will need access to a copy of Photoshop of some description, this can be obtained at the Adobe website.

Step one: Choose the image that you wish to convert.

For instance, if you had a high quality .PNG file that was taking up too much space for a webpage, you can downgrade it to a compressed JPEG, decreasing the quality but also drastically decreasing the size, as it is not a vector image format.

Step two: Open the image up into Photoshop, by clicking the file tab, open, and selecting the image.

Step Three: Click the file tab again, and navigate to the Save as tab. Select the location of which you want to save the file to, and click the dropdown arrow on the right hand side of the renaming box, and select whatever format you wish (For this we will be using JPEG).

Once you have finished these steps, your image format will now be changed, and the image will be a smaller size to upload to a website or to store for whatever your intended purpose is!
